We have been involved with Newfoundland dogs since 1988.  Life just wouldn't be complete without these big newfie boys and girls hanging out with us on a daily basis.  Make sure you have the time, room and love to give before making this BIG commitment.  They are absolutely wonderful family members and will love you unconditionally but yes they do slobber and yes they do shed!   They are worth the clean up.   Make sure that the Newfoundland breeder you work with does health clearances on the dogs they breed.    Every breed has health issues they just need to be cleared prior to breeding.   We have clearances on all our dogs and they are posted here and with OFA.   For the newfies we test and certify hips, elbows, heart, patellas and cystinuria.

The berners are tested for hips, elbows, patellas, heart, vWb, eyes, DM (Degenerative Myelopathy) & Sod1B (DM)

The Bernese Mountain dog became of interest to us back in 1991.   We did alot of reading and looking but did not obtain this wonderful dog until 2000.   We just didn't realize what we were missing and had we known we would not have waited so long!  Berners just like Newfies are wonderful family members and will steal your heart immediately!   They have a striking appearance and great personality.    As with other breeds they also have health issues that must be checked prior to breeding.

We do show some of our dogs and will share their progress as it happens right here on our site.   Some dogs absolutely love the show attention and then there are others that just don't want to be there.   So we are trying with some of them and if they enjoy it then we will keep working with them to obtain their championships.    But more important is the happiness of the dog.   

As reputable Bernese Mountain Dog and Newfoundland breeders, we stand behind our dogs and guarantee our puppies for 5 years!    If a puppy can no longer function as a pet within the first 24 months we will replace them.  There is a supplement NuVet Plus that we have used for over 15 years now and we highly recommend using it.  The choice is yours but if you will give it to your puppy from the beginning then we will extend the guarantee.  So from the 25th month to the 60th month should your dog no longer be able to function as a pet we will give you a 40% credit toward another puppy.   We have tried to put as much info in our website as possible but if there is anything else you need to know please email or call us and we'll do our best to answer your questions.  Visitors are always welcome here unless we have new puppies and then we try to keep visits to a minimum for the safety and health of the puppies.
